pachamama cacao
The Pachamama Cacao feels like a warm embrace – the natural superfood comes from the foot of the mystical Machu Picchu in PERU. The original “food of the gods” consists 100% of the resistant CHUNCHO variety; it thrives in the biodiversity of an intact jungle.
THE NATURAL SUPERFOOD IS A BLESSING FOR MODERN EVERYDAY LIFE.
Cacao Chuncho takes us back to the time before the Incas. Indigenous peoples used to enjoy the “magic potion” every day, prepared purely with water – and you will learn why in the SONQO CACAO COURSE!
A cup of Pachamama Cacao contains a wealth of valuable nutrients that combine to activate a holistic focus for work and sport, strengthen your sixth sense for creativity, the arts, yoga and meditation and make you mellow for sensual togetherness.
Communicate with HEART POWER in your private and professional life:
Coffee helps us to focus on details and to decide and work efficiently. It also helps us to function as desired in groups and in society.
COFFEE ACTIVATES THE BRAIN – PACHAMAMA CACAO REVITALIZES THE HEART.
Pachamama Cacao invigorates holistic feeling and thinking: the food of the gods can help shape meetings fruitfully when it comes to social, ecological and sustainable decisions.

SONQO works with Pumatiy from the Cusco region in the province of Quillabamba and provides the family with free training in regenerative cultivation methods known as “Syntropic Jungle Care”. The producer in turn combines traditional craftsmanship with a good sense of innovation. His products have already been honored twice (2020 & 2022) with an international cocoa award in Paris.
The following quality features and dedicated projects characterize your Pachamama Cacao:

The Pachamama Cacao is harvested only once a year in accordance with natural cycles. The regional soil type, optimal microclimate, gentle harvesting and careful processing by hand guarantee excellent quality.
Important: Chocolate always has a cadmium value. SONQO has every delivery checked in the laboratory in accordance with regulations. The Pachamama Cacao is far below a critical value.
ceremonial grade
You will look in vain for labels and certificates on SONQO packaging. The Peruvian producer family Pumatiy has the organic label. Nevertheless, SONQO consistently does not want to show it on the European market: what SONQO intends to do with the intercultural circular culture is “beyond of labels”. This means that many stores are unable to include the product in their range and certain subsidies are not available. But SONQO wants to remain true to its own vision.
SIMPLICITY IS WHAT MAKES NATURE SO PERFECT.
Pachamama Cacao is produced in a holistic way in line with Peruvian cosmology (see picture): Nothing is added to the ancient superfood and nothing is removed – its natural perfection gives it excellent “ceremonial grade” quality: the high content of healthy fat opens the heart.
This simplicity of the Cacao Chuncho reads like an analogy to the purist living.
For indigenous rituals and cocoa ceremonies, certain spices are also added to the food of the gods. With this recipe ultimately opens up all energy centers. This enables mental transformations through the natural superfood and via the physical body.
Cacao info
RECIPE for DAILY CACAO: The effect of Pachamama Cacao is most intense at sunrise. Cacao can also be enjoyed during the day. SONQO recommends drinking 1-2 cups of warm water beforehand.
Heat a cup of water (2.5-3 dl) in a pan, then remove the pan from the heat and add 2 tablespoons (approx. 20 g) of Pachamama Cacao. Stir with a wooden ladle, allow the cacao to melt and become creamy.
Depending on your mood, refine your Pachamama Cacao with cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, date juice or birnell.
CACAO CONTAINS A LOT OF IRON, MAGNESIUM, CALCIUM, VITAMINS, FLAVONOLS (antioxidant), THEOBROMINE (stimulant) AND TRYPOPHANE (neurotransmitter), WHICH IN COMBINATION FORM SEROTONIN AND SOMIT HAPPINESS HORMONES.
STORAGE: The Pachamama Cacao likes room temperature
at 18-20 degrees and fresh oxygen. For daily use, chop up a bar and store it in a jar with a cork lid or in the cardboard box provided. This way you can help yourself every morning.
ATTENTION: SONQO only uses hot spices such as chili or ginger for ceremonies (not for Daily Cacao or Cacao Celebrations) when a ritual involves movement (dance and/or breath work) with mindful guidance and accompaniment.
Milk: SONQO recommends not preparing cocoa with milk (not even plant-based milk). You can find out why in the SONQO CACAO COURSE. Indigenous peoples have always enjoyed cocoa pure with water.
THE GOLDEN MEAN BETWEEN RIGHT AND WRONG IS COURAGEOUS ENJOYMENT.
Morning ritual: Drink your PACHAMAMA CACAO in sips in a pleasurable atmosphere, because when you are stressed, for example, your heart opens up into stress. When you are angry, it opens into anger. So take the time you need and create a constructive moment for your heart to open.
AN OPEN HEART LIKES IT SIMPLE AND EASY.
One cup of Pachamama Cacao in the morning is usually enough to keep you going until lunchtime. If you do feel hungry or crave a snack, we recommend dates, fruit, berries, nuts or CACAO NIBS and three CACAO BEANS. Be sure to drink water, herbal tea or fruit juice regularly.
CACAO BELONGS TO THE GENUS THEOBROMA (GREEK: GODDESS FOOD) AND THE MALLOW FAMILY.

Out of curiosity, I try different cocoas from South America and Africa. But I always return to my favorite; the Pachamama Cacao supports my yoga class wonderfully during the practice.
It used to be impossible for me to show my feelings. During the difficult time of my divorce, I got to know SONQO through a festival. Since then, I have been drinking Pachamama Cacao every day and I feel much more connected to myself.
I had long associated cocoa with bad military memories. Today, thanks to SONQO, I even drink it with my work colleagues at the start of important meetings. It really does make us much more alert than coffee.
