In the cosmology of the Andes, the Chakana is the most important symbol. The cross of the chakana serves as a guide for the person leading the ceremony. A male and a female bell are indispensable. Their bright sound helps to find the middle way Sumak Kawsay again and again.
The subtle bell sounds remind people of the feeling of the Sumak Kawsay. This cosmology unites the five elements, the four seasons and cardinal points, the three dimensions of space, time, and linearity (stories), as well as the dualities, which ultimately all stem from the male and female principle.
SONQO sells the bells as a pair according to Andean tradition. One for invoking the masculine energy and one for awakening the feminine energy.
You always start a ceremony with a clear intention. The sound of the bell carries the intention into the infinity of the cosmos. In this vastness, mental resistances fall away, and the two energies of the mother and father essence unite in neutrality – in the middle way, Sumak Kawsay.
