ABOUT OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY PROJECTS

Sonqo Circle protects ancestral knowledge by sharing it with the world. We want to create an international learning network, where we can help people transform their lives, offer an exchange platform for volunteers and locals, and commit to protect Mother Earth by supporting local projects.

Do you want to get involved by supporting us or participating in a volunteering project? We believe in the Inca principle of Ayni (reciprocity), which means that we will offer you free spiritual courses and retreats for your help.

PACHAMAMA RAYMI

According to ancestral traditions and the Paqos (Master healers), there is a very special moment dedicated to Mother Earth each year, in which she is willing and open to receive our offerings of gratitude even more. This period takes place in the month of August, starting from the first day until August 31. And as part of this celebration, on August 1, Mother Earth Day (Pachamama Raymi) is celebrated, an event where many Andean communities and people perform Offerings to Mother Earth together with many people as one of the most important celebrations of the Andes. SONQO has the mission to promote this beautiful tradition and share it with the world. Read more about it in our blog.

COCA LEAF DAY

Kintus: Union of 3 Coca Leaves

The Coca Leaf is the symbolic connection between the material and spiritual world. This is why many people of the Andes Mountains use the Coca Leaves while performing their anestral ceremonies. Especially each year in December people are celebrating the Coca Leaf Day to honour this sacred plant. The ancient Inca culture considered the Coca leaf as a gift of the Sun God Inti and the Moon Mother Moma Quilla. Every year, SONQO performs a Celebration of the Coca Leaf Day to embrace a spiritual connection, warmth, friendship, wisdom, courage and harmony with the spirit world as a fundamental part of cosmic order.

VOLUNTEER WALKING IN CUSCO

Every second Saturday of the month, the local SONQO team of Cusco organizes volunteering walks in the outskirts of Cusco. We appreciate our beautiful Mother Nature and therefore do little walks with a group of volunteers, cleaning the areas and picking up litter. Our objective is not only to clean everything, but to also experience a beautiful moment together and share our knowledge about the historic sites closeby, which is why one of our local guides accompanies us. Everyone is invited to join – you can come with your friends, family, children and pets. It will be a unique experience doing a little volunteering for our nature and Mother Earth. 🌳🌎 Join our Whatsapp group for more details HERE.
